COVID-19 Update #1

COVID-19 Update #1

Wednesday, March 11 | 1:50 PM

By now we are all aware of recent developments in southern Fulton County regarding the 2019 novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

In the light of these developments, I am considering some changes at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

These measures will be in addition to the liturgical adaptations implemented across the Archdiocese of Atlanta in recent weeks.

Please know that the changes I ultimately announce reflect three priorities:

  • Eliminate unnecessary opportunities for person-to-person contact and potential exposure.
  • Limit frequency of visits to the parish campus.
  • Decrease the time people spend on the parish campus.

I will personally reach out to individuals and groups that are potentially impacted by the changes we make.

Additionally, Deacon Fred Toca and I encourage you to follow the advice of your health care providers. If you have been instructed to avoid crowds, please know that this directive does apply to avoiding crowds at church. In the Catholic Church, one is always excused from the Sunday Mass obligation for health reasons.

Be assured that I will issue another update by the end of the week.

Warmest Regards,

Father Desmond Drummer

Pastor
