Endurance and Hope

Tuesday, May 12

This post was provided by Mpho Bratton

This is a song that has kept me steady in uncertain times. It speaks of holding on to God’s promise amidst doubt and uncertainty. It reminds me that God has a plan for each and every one of us, and that even when we are unsteady on our feet and gripped by fear - His purpose and truth are greater than our fear and doubt. Ultimately, we all belong to him - and that truth alone will help us weather any storm.
I hope the MBS Church Family can appreciate and enjoy this song as much as I do.

Prayer for Our Global Society

by Patricia Matthews

Dear Lord, help us to understand and handle the fact that this Pandemic is in your control.
It's in your control to decide when and which of our Family members, Friends or Acquaintances to call to your ultimate Resting Place, as a result of COVID-19.
It's in your control even if we are personally suffering, we have Family members suffering, we have friends suffering, or we have acquaintances suffering from COVID-19 or other illnesses.
It's in your control even if we are experiencing the stress of COVID-19 or other illnesses:
 - because we are First Responders,
 - because we are feeling lonely,
 - because we are feeling helpless,
 - because we are feeling anxieties of meeting our basic needs,
 - because we are feeling socially deprived,
 - because we are having to adjust to different ways of learning and interacting with others,
 - because we are experiencing economic challenges,
 - because we are having to depend more on our Faith to make it through the day, or
 - because we are having to adjust to different ways of communicating with you, Dear Lord.
No matter what we are experiencing, Dear Lord, please help us to remember All Things are in Your Control and our Faith in you will carry us through, not only NOW, but at ALL Times.
AMEN.

We Need You Right Now

by Donny Hathaway

Lyrics

There's no one else to turn to

But you, yeah

You're the only answer to the situation

That we've gotten ourself into

So master, won't you please come down

And give us a helping hand

Cause we need you

We need you, right now

There's a lot of people going hungry

Cause they can't nothin to eat

There's a lot of people going naked

They ain't even got shoes to put on their feet

So master won't you please come down

And give us a helping hand

Cause we need you

Said we need you right now

Right now

Right now lord

Said we need you, right now

I said we need you

We need you, right now

I said we need you, right now

I said man has gotten out of hand

With his evil ways

Can't you see that he,

He isn't strong enough

Just a little bit more each and every day

So master, won't you please come down

And give us a helping hand

Cause we need you

We need you right now

Right now, lord

Hey, right now

Said we need you

We need you, right now

Yeah we need you

I said we need you right now

Hey right now lord

We need you lord

We need you

Right now

Said we need you, we need you, we need you

Right now

We need you right now, yeah

We need you right now, yes we do

We need you right now

Said we need you right now

I said we need you,

Said we need you

Right now

Prayer for the Shepherds of the Church

by Audrey Love

Almighty God,

United in prayer with the Church throughout the world,

we ask your blessing on Pope Francis,

our new archbishop, Gregory Hartmayer,

and all who tend the sheep of Your flock.

With the aid of the Saints in glory,

may all who serve the cause of Christ

be untiring in proclaiming the Gospel

and advancing the dominion of Christ the King,

Whose rule endures from age to age.

Amen.
